If you are considering a career in labor and delivery, but you value the relational aspect rather than the medical aspect of the delivery process, you may want to pursue a career as a doula. DONA International defines a doula as a “trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before, during and just after birth; or who provides emotional and practical support during the postpartum period.” In this episode of “You Do What?” Jenna Connour speaks with Grace Lombardo, doula for Ohana (a birth and parenting services company), to learn more about this career path.
