Production Technician, Forklift operator

Grandview, WA

REPORTS TO

Operations Manager

SUMMARY

Works in a variety of areas, production, sanitation, and drum washing for the company.

SALARY RANGE

$18.86 - $25.15 per hour

BENEFITS

Employees receive twelve paid holidays and earn 40 hours of paid vacation per calendar year (pro-rated during the first year of employment).

After 90 calendar days of employment, employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our Company's 401K retirement savings plan with Company matching contribution up to 7%.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow all company Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices

  • Produce high quality products in a safe, sanitary, and healthful manner

  • Maintain documentation and production records that are legible, accurate, and complete

  • Communication with team leaders, leads, maintenance, and all production personnel to achieve self-sufficient team goals

  • Understands and applies HACCP, plant quality, plant GMP's, and food safety requirements to the daily performance of the job

  • Performs housekeeping and sanitation duties, according to company SSOP's.

  • Maintain a clean work environment

  • Must be able to work any shift, including weekends and overtime as needed while maintaining a good attendance record

  • Flow to the work in all areas of production

  • Ability to work as part of a team and assist others as needed

SELECTION CRITERIA

Education

  • High school degree or equivalent is required

Other

  • Minimum age of 18

  • Two years previous manufacturing experience a plus

  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, GMP's, and general instructions as well as carry out both oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out both oral and written instructions

  • Ability to effectively read, comprehend, and fill in production forms accurately with dates, times, temperatures and other processing information

  • Able to work with and around cleaning chemicals and perform sanitation duties

  • Previous forklift driving experience a plus

Physical Demands

  • Employee is regularly required to stand, walk, lift (67-100%)

  • Employee is regularly required to use hands and arms for reaching/grasping /handling/ fine finger manipulation during the day (67-100%)

  • Employee must be able to work any shift (day or night) including weekends

  • Employee must be able to occasionally squat, bend, work above shoulders, climb stairs or ladders (11-33%)

  • Employee must be able to frequently lift up to 25 lb. (34-66%)

  • Employee must be able to seldom lift 60 lb. (1 - 10%)

  • The employee must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment including safety glasses, hearing protection, and bump caps.
