The Superintendent, Chemical Operations reports to the General Manager.

This position is located in our nitrogen chemical production facility inKennewick, Washington, U.S.A. and is not available for remote work.

What you will do:

  • Meet plant targets in safety, production, operating cost, quality, and environmental performance
  • Support, coach, and develop operations personnel including the four shifts to ensure their work is focused on delivering site Key Performance Indicators
  • Supervisory responsibilities include personnel development activities, team direction, and building and performance counseling
  • Coordinate operations through the Supervisors including day to day issues between the operations, maintenance, and technical areas
  • Provide planning for longer term (2 to 5 years) operations
  • Work with commercial teams to meet and achieve short term and long term forecasts
  • Facilitate the resolution of unit production issues I.E. shutdowns, equipment replacements, product quality, etc.
  • Participate in the development of the department budget and is accountable to operate within the budget
  • Support the Management of Change (MOC) process

What you will bring:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 7 or more years of production experience in similar industry
  • Capable of understanding complex chemical processes and equipment
  • Working knowledge of work redesign concepts and change management principles
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems using standard techniques, unique approaches, and through the involvement of others
  • Ability to interface between operating group and maintenance, technical, and external teams

Compensation & Benefits:

SalaryRange $112,800.00 - $155,100.00. This range is estimated for Superintendent, Chemical Operations under Washington's Pay Transparency Law. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan and long-term incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our plan(s), which provide discretionary award opportunities reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.
