Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting for an Event Investigator/Cause Analyst in Richland, WA.

This position will support Navarro-ATL. Navarro-ATL is located in Richland, WA, and operates, manages, and maintains the 222-S Laboratory Complex for the Department of Energy. The Navarro-ATL members are Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. (Oak Ridge, TN), and Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International (Gaithersburg, MD).

This position will support the Navarro-ATL Contractor Assurance department through the performance of event investigations and cause analysis. Additionally, this position will provide general administrative support in the areas of issues management, assessment, and performance metrics.

Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, candidate must be able to successfully complete the following duties:

  • Conduct thorough investigations into events, incidents, and anomalies within the nuclear facility.
  • Work closely with various departments, including operations, safety, and engineering teams to understand processes and gather relevant information for investigations.
  • Utilize industry-standard methodologies to perform cause analyses for identified events.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on investigation and cause analysis outcomes for management and regulatory authorities.
  • Develop and implement process improvements for the contractor assurance program.
  • Provide support to the Navarro-ATL assessment program.
  • Provide support on the development and implementation of internal performance metrics, charts, and reports.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Experience performing event investigations and cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the nuclear industry or other highly regulated environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Qualification in root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Experience working in a DOE environment.
  • Familiarity with DOE Occurrence reporting requirements.
  • Experience in assessments and/or QA audits.
  • Certification in Lean Six-Sigma methodology.

Annual Salary Range (based on full-time 40 hours per week)

Grade 16: $86,138 - $108,513

Grade 17: $94,650 - $119,250

Grade 18: $104,175 - $131,425

The grade level offered to the selected candidate will be based on business needs and the candidate's education, training, and/or relevant experience.

In accordance with the Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc (Navarro) salary determination process, Navarro takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. A candidate's salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
